Jammu Kashmir National Awami Party (JKNAP) was founded on 22nd
July 1995 in Pakistani Occupied Kashmir by the leadership of Jammu Kashmir
National Students Federation JKNSF in tandem with the former leaders of the
organization and outstanding nationalists and leftists of POK. JKNAP is a
continuation of ideological struggle belongs to Jammu Kashmir National Students
Federation (JKNSF) from student’s politics to mass party (approved by the
General Council (GC) of JKNSF on 13th, 14th October 1995
at Rawalakote POK).
JKNAP believes on peaceful and non- violent political struggle for
the reunification of forcibly divided State of Jammu Kashmir, institute a
sovereign nation state, and promote secular democracy, rule of law and an
exemplary system of governance free of exploitation and discrimination on the
basis of race, religion, colour and creed. Gradually moving towards a classless
society where each gets according to his work and then according to their
needs. We will move forward with the slogan, “WORKERS OF
THE WORLD ARE UNITED”.
JKNAP believes that both India and Pakistan have occupied the State of Jammu
Kashmir illegally, immorally and unethically and demands that both India and
Pakistan must pull out their forces of occupation from the entire State of
Jammu Kashmir. JKNAP is a popular icon of political resistance in Pakistani
Occupied Kashmir against the unjust treatment of Kashmiri people by the civil
and military bureaucracy of Islamabad and their surrogate colonial aides in
POK.
JKNAP demands the intervention of International Institutions like
United Nations in accordance with its charter, “not the resolutions adopted by
its controversial commission UNCIP” and urges UN to play its centric role for
promoting and implementing the basic norms of its founding document “The
Universal Declaration of Human Rights” (UDHR 1948) in the State of Jammu
Kashmir. Besides its strong presence in POK JKNAP politically co-ordinates with
the secular and democratic political movements in Pakistani Occupied Gilgit
Baltistan (POGB) and Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK)
In order to enhance its political momentum with the co-ordination
of party members residing in different regions of the world, the National
Council (NC) of the party made a decision on 16th June 2007 at
Rawalpindi to launch its worldwide political struggle among Kashmiris by the
name of International Council Jammu Kashmir National Awami Party (ICJKNAP).
Presently ICJKNAP has its party branches and party cadre in UK, Western Europe,
Middle East., North America, Asia Pacific, South Africa and Australia. |
